The Summer 2006 photography program in El Progreso, Honduras involved 8 children ages 8 to 13. The children in the program belong to low-income familieswho attend an urban elementary school located in an area marked by much crime and poverty. They were all very enthusiastic and eager to participate in the various assignments. Their hard work has paid off and despite their young age, they have been able to project the essence of the people in their community.

The Jackson Heights project began in July 2007. After a few months of weekly training, these young artists have been able to share with us a glimpse of what it means to be part of the vibrant, yet ordinary life in Queens and other areas of New York City. All youth belong to recent immigrant families from Latin America.
